Athens/Piraeus, 2016

EUTERPE, the Greek muse of music, as performed by a piano of the factory Euterpe. DROMOS, the entrance of a grave-chamber, as performed by the abandoned Dromos Club in Piraeus. These are the main protagonists of a musical, collaborative procession from Piraeus harbor to Circuits + Currents leading to the reanimation of the Club by an initiation ritual and a subsequent feast. The cycle is inspired by the artist’s own memories and associations, as well as the various processions that took place in ancient Athens. These processions often heralded festivals in which all of the city’s inhabitants (locals and foreigners alike) took part – festivals that, as acts of interpretative commemoration, are not a far cry from our own humble exhibition //
